Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking receives its New England premiere thirteen years after its critically acclaimed debut at San Francisco Opera. With a libretto by Terrence McNally, adapted from the first-hand account of Sister Helen Prejean, C.S.J., it speaks of faith, redemption, and the bonds of family as seen through the eyes of a nun who establishes a unique relationship with an inmate on Death Row at a Louisiana State Penitentiary.
