Boston, MA — Boston Opera Collaborative (BOC) continues its 2006-2007 season with a production of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. New England's emerging young artists will bring this classic fairy tale to life with the goal of fulfilling BOC's mission to make opera accessible to new and diverse audiences. This youth oriented production aims at enriching children's knowledge of opera as well as providing a fun, entertaining atmosphere for the whole family. To encourage our youngest opera fans, children under 5 will be admitted free of charge!

Stage Director Christine Fortner lends her skills as a director, as well as her creativity and boundless energy to engage audience members of all ages. Christine returns to BOC after co-directing BOC's Fall 2006 program, “Making a Scena!” She will be joined by Assistant Director Roxanna Myhrum, a newcomer to BOC with extensive experience in theater directing, production, and design. Conductor and pianist Fred Frabotta completes this talented artistic staff as Musical Director. Mr. Frabotta has served as a Musical Director for more than fifty musical theater and opera productions throughout New England.

BOC will continue its 2006-2007 season in March with Puccini's La Bohème (in collaboration with Riverside Theatre Works). In July, Boston Opera Collaborative will present Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites. Please visit our website for up-to-date information on upcoming productions and events.
