BOSTON, MA—Boston Opera Collaborative (BOC) continues its 2006-2007 season by collaborating with Riverside Theatre Works in a production of the beloved masterpiece La Bohème, a timeless, tragic love story set in Paris during the early 19th century. The story and music has influenced the work of many artists outside the world of opera, notably featuring prominently in the soundtrack of the movie Moonstruck, and, more recently, as the basis for the Tony-award- and Pulitzer-prize- winning rock opera Rent.

Markus Hauck, conductor, vocal coach, pianist, and successful recording artist, as well as BOC cofounder and Executive Director, lends his baton again, after conducting BOC's tremendously successful production of Iphigénie en Aulide in August of 2006. Stage director Melissa Williams, Executive Director for Riverside Theatre Works, has extensive experience as a director, teacher, and singer, and has recently directed, among other numerous accomplishments, Mozart's The Impresario and Menotti's Amahl and the Night Visitors. This dynamic duo brings a fresh, vibrant energy to a well-loved clasic.

BOC's 2006-2007 Season will culminate with a production of Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites to be performed July 28-29 and August 4-5, 2007. Please visit our website for up-to-date information on upcoming productions and events.
