Brendan P. Buckley, tenor

Massachusetts native Brendan P. Buckley, tenor, is quickly gaining a reputation as a skilled and sought-after performer. A versatile actor and musician, Brendan is at home in both classical and contemporary works. Recent notable performances include Remendado in Carmen and Monostatos in The Magic Flute, both with Boston Opera Collaborative, First Tenor in The Seven Deadly Sins by Kurt Weill with the Five College Opera Project, Le Petit Veillard in L’enfant et les sortileges and Tamino in The Magic Flute with MetroWest Opera and Alfred in Die Fledermaus with Opera del West. Partial roles include Beppe in Donizetti’s Rita, Fenton in Falstaff by Verdi and Julien in Louise by Charpentier. Upcoming performances include the tenor solo in Bach’s Mass in B-minor with the Masterworks Chorale and Don Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro with the Boston Opera Collaborative.

Brendan has premiered a number of new roles as well, including Dr. Singleton in the premiere of We Are Sons with Guerilla Opera and John in RE: with Juventas! and OperaHub. Brendan also premiered Music for the Journey, a cantata composed by John Kramer for the Winchester Unitarian Society.

Brendan received a Master’s degree in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from The Pennsylvania State University. He received his Bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Music at The University of Massachusetts-Amherst, with further study at the Scuola Italia in Urbania, Italy.
