Margaret Felice, soprano

Originally from greater Hartford, Margaret Felice holds degrees from Boston College and The Boston Conservatory. Her most recent operatic appearance was Don Giovanni with Boston Opera Collaborative (Donna Elvira). Recent oratorio performances include the soprano solos in Rutter's Requiem, Pergolesi's Stabat Mater and Beethoven's Mass in C.

In January 2007 Margaret took office as President of the Boston Opera Collaborative. She appeared in their inaugural production, Iphigénie en Aulide, their fall 2006 scenes program entitled "Making a Scena", and their cooperative production La Bohème with Riverside Theatreworks. During the summer of 2007 she was part of their production of Dialogues of the Carmelites, singing the role of Sister Martha and covering the role of Blanche under the direction of Marc Astafan and Michael Strauss.

This summer Margaret will travel to Novafeltria, Italy, to cover the role of Musetta in La Boheme with La Musica Lirica. Margaret recently travelled to Pepperdine University to attend the Songfest Professional Program for singers and pianists, focusing primarily on recital repertoire. An active recitalist, she performs regularly across Southern New England . Recent recitals have been held at Newton Free Library, the Public Library of Brookline, and The Boston Conservatory.

Since 2005 Margaret has sung with Cappella Clausura, a professional treble chamber choir committed to performing works by women who wrote during Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras. Awards include first place in the 2003 Rhode Island NATS Competition and the Arts Council Award at Boston College.

An artist with a particular interest in urban education, Margaret has directed boys' and girls' choirs in New Bedford, Dorchester and the Germantown neighborhood of Quincy, MA. In 2007 she developed and directed a High School Audition Workshop, run by Boston Opera Collaborative at the Boston Arts Academy. Margaret lives in South Boston and is a religion teacher and director of liturgical music at Catholic high school.
