Joshua Miller is in his third year as Director of Choral Activities at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, MA where he conducts four of the seven choral groups. The ARHS Chamber Choir recently completed a nine day tour of Italy, including a performance at the Carnival of Venice. The ARHS Concert Choir performed the world premeire of Scott Watson's Night Journey at the 2007 State Conference of the Massachusetts Music Educator's Association. In spring of 2006 the ARHS Chamber Choir received a Gold Medal at the annual MICCA Choral Festival and was selected to perform as a part of the "Stars of Symphony" Festival at Boston's Symphony Hall.
Josh obtained his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Marshall University and completed his Master of Music Degree in Conducting from The Ohio State University. For two years Josh has also participated in the Eastman School of Music Conducting Institute where he studied conducting with William Weinhert, Joseph Flummerfelt, and David Hoose. He also was selected to study conducting with Simon Carrington at the Yale University Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. In the fall of 2007 Josh will partipate in the Chorus America A Cappella Conducting Insitute with the St. Olaf Choir and the VocalEssance Professional Chorus.
Josh has conducted productions for Opera Columbus, The Columbus Children's Theatre, The Ohio State University, and the College Light Opera Company out of Cape Cod. Josh has prepared choruses and coached singers for the Boston Opera Collaborative and the Harvard University Lowell Opera. In the Winter of 2008 Josh will serve as the Music Director for the Boston Opera Collaborative production of Mozart's Don Giovanni.
